Environmental Research

Ab Initio Archives Research, LLC has a long history of performing historical research in support of environmental remediation projects at formerly used defense and military contractor sites used by American armed forces throughout the United States and abroad. I can find documents, maps and aerial photographs that can be used to establish site ownership history, potentially responsible parties (PRPs), site operations and the locations of storage or emissions of toxic contaminants. Over the past 13 years, I have worked as a contractor/subcontractor for environmental firms, law firms and federal agencies such as the EPA and the US Army Corps of Engineers, specializing in records documenting federal government or military involvement at contaminated sites.

Additionally, I have extensively used land records that record the existence and extent of water resources. This includes river navigability maps and land patent files showing water sources.
